I finally have someone to sit for me. I spent around two hours working on it so far. I am taking my time and not rushing it. Its life size and boy pushing that much klean clay around is a chore. First thing this next week is to go out and buy some water clay.

after a few pictures and measurements I realized the back of the skull was to long. I reshaped the back and added the spot for an ear. I still need to refine the top of the skull more as well

I did start another portrait from life, this of my 9 year old daughter and will post some pictures of it soon. I have manged to line up quite a few folks to sit for me this coming fall, so i hope to stay busy!

It will be a while before I have a chance to work on this bust, the model is in high school and only available to sit on the weekends, and I decided that I wanted to work from start to finish straight from life and no photos

She's coming along Tim. Glad to hear you are trying to keep with working from life. Always the best approach in the beginning and the experience will help you later when you start relying more on photos.
