I need beauty in my world. I have needed to create beauty all my life. When I see beauty in art, I feel a direct connection to human goodness and potential. It's the one constant that has value to me: it's the thing I can contribute. My goal is to make sculpture that creates this experience of the highest self. It is this idea that pulls me to my studio each day. A good portrait has to transcend fine accurate rendering. A portrait has to be modeled with such sensitivity that the viewer is drawn into the experience of beauty.
