Mark Porter

Biography

Mark Porter currently lives and works in Red Hook Brooklyn where he sculpts and runs a design-build studio. In 2009-2010 he studied figurative sculpture at Grand Central Academy in NYC and has competed in several major sculpture competitions. Mark has apprenticed and collaborated with many artists, on small to monumental pieces. Mostly self-taught, Mark is now seriously pursuing a career as a sculptor.

Portraiture is originally what drew me to sculpture as I was always attracted to the subtleties in people's faces and how it can explain more than a verbal exchange.
